If they can why can’t we?  Am I right?  Or do we not have the right to free speech?

no you don’t get to have straight pride you stupid fuck
politicians don’t fight to have straight marriage banned. parents do not kick their children out of their homes because they’re straight. friends do not abandon their friends once they realize they’re straight. people are not assaulted by bigots for being straight. people do not commit suicide because everyone around them treated them like shit for being straight
you have nothing to be proud of. you haven’t been discriminated against or insulted for being heterosexual. you haven’t struggled to feel normal in a society which tells you that being queer is unnatural. you don’t get a straight pride because you don’t fucking need one
i cannot fucking believe that there are still people who want “straight” pride
go fuck yourself

Argentina JUST PASSED a groundbreaking gender identity bill!!!
From now on, people will be able to change the name and gender on their ID without needing psychiatric permission or any body modifications. Furthermore, anyone who does want hormones or surgery will be able to access them for free through the public and private health system.
It was passed unanimously today by the Senate
UNANIMOUSLY

Argentina is just getting more awesome by the year. Countries that aren’t Argentina need to take note.

Over 100 schools in Georgia say ‘No Gays Allowed!’ – and still get $170 million from  the public to do it.
Georgia lawmakers want to add millions more to this voucher program that supports schools who explicitly ban gay and lesbian students. Politicians think this is about being re-elected, instead of about students being treated fairly. But, they won’t be able to ignore state education officials who’s job it is to make sure all Georgia students get the education they deserve.
The Georgia School Superintendent, John D. Barge, could make it clear that outright discrimination is just not acceptable. So far he’s avoided this political controversy – so we need to give him a straightforward way to be heard by state legislators. We’re asking him to answer one simple question: Do you think gay or lesbian students should be expelled from publicly-funded schools for who they are? His answer can make equality, not partisanship, the priority.

Today, same-sex marriage is legal in Maryland. (By the way, congrats!) Alas, not everyone’s a fan. The guy above, for example, who stopped a popular wedding trolley business that earned him $50,000 per year because he didn’t want to have to serve gay couples due to his Christian beliefs.

hahahaha thank you LA times for such a great picture filled with hilarious innuendoes.

Portraits of same-sex military couples: documenting a community who for the first time in US history can step into the light and be fully seen for who they are.

This project was inspired by the courage of soldiers like Stephen Snyder-Hill, who was booed on national television during a Republican debate when he asked whether the candidates would reinstate Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. It is currently raising funds on Kickstarter.
